出国留学已经成为越来越多中国学生的一大选择，有不少家庭甚至在孩子读初高中时就将其送出国，但不少中国学生出国后发现，很多外国领导人在发表演讲时喜欢引用中国的名言、警句、谚语，这使得他们的演讲生动、幽默、亲切。而中国学生在与外国同学交流时也往往谈及这些话题，那么，我们要如何做到在交流时对这些“中国名言”对答如流，不让自己“露怯”呢？
最爱引用中国名言警句

据了解，2010年第二轮美中战略与经济对话在北京开幕时，美国总统奥巴马的特别代表、前国务卿希拉里出席开幕式并讲话，希拉里在讲话中引用了一个中国成语“殊途同归”。听听她是如何用英语表述的呢？
“There is a Chinese proverb that speaks of treading different paths that lead to the same destination。”这是希拉里讲话时的原文，其中“tread different paths that lead to the same direction”就是“殊途同归”的英译。
外国政要在讲话中引用中国成语、俗语、典故等，这样的例子举不胜举。如美国前总统里根访华的时候就引用了“海内存知己，天涯若比邻”（出自唐代诗人王勃的《送杜少府之任蜀州》）：A bosom friend afar brings a distant l and near。2009年奥巴马总统在上海演讲的时候，也说过一句：Consider the past and you will know the future。此即“温故而知新”（出自《论语》）的英译。

最喜欢“子曰”
外国政要们写文章或做演讲的时候，为什么喜欢引用来自中国的名言警句呢？一是显示自己的文化修养和幽默风趣；二是富有哲理和宝贵人生经验的名言名句可增强文章和演讲的说服力，使内容更为丰富生动。
印象中，被外国名流引用得最多的中国名人语录，首推孔子和孙子，其次是老子、毛泽东和邓小平等。如“知之为知之，不知为不知，是知也”；“使我介然有知，行于大道，唯施是畏”；“二人同心，其利断金”，分别出自《论语》、《道德经》和《易经》，引用它们的分别是日本前首相福田康夫、俄罗斯总理梅德韦杰夫和法国前总统希拉克。在政要们的高谈阔论中，先秦典籍频频亮相，而孔子可谓“领衔主演”，奥巴马、梅德韦杰夫、福田康夫都用过，希拉克虽然引用的是《易经》名句，却不小心安在了孔夫子名下。另外，《易经》和老子也是政要们的“宝矿”，印度前总理瓦杰帕伊那句“不出户，知天下；不窥牖，见天道”就出自老子的《道德经》。相对而言，唐诗宋词就不如先秦典籍的“出镜”频率高。
美剧盛行
角儿们也爱《孙子兵法》
而随着美国电视剧的盛行，我们不难发现，现在不少美剧都喜欢引用《孙子兵法》里的名句，不但包括《超人新冒险》中的大恶人Lex Luther、《越狱》里头的冷面FBI马洪、《识骨寻踪》女主角博学的Brennan博士，甚至还有青春歌舞剧《欢乐合唱团》里娘味十足的小男生。
其实《孙子兵法》不只是兵法，还是商战和管理学的百科全书，其博大精深的道理在几千年后的现代社会依然有其勃勃的生命力。
